Mommy's Know Best

Lastnight Tinslea went to bed at 6:30 and Josh woke her up at 8:15!! Now that was some good sleep. I had to go to work early and he needed to do some things at WKU so he took her to daycare. When I got off work at 3:00pm, I went straight to get Tinslea and I had planned on the two of us going to the mall (Deana told me Children's Place was having a good sale). So when I picked her up she just didn't look like she felt any better. I had already called Dr. Smith's office earlier in the day...but once I saw her and heard the way she just kept coughing I knew I had to do something. So we went to the mall, I bought her 2 shirts for next year in the Children's Place for $5! Then we went to our appointment with Dr. Smith at 4:45. Sure enough...she has an infection in her throat :(
When we got home I fixed her some supper, gave her and bath and she went straight to bed - 6:45pm. Josh had CPR training tonight and he was wanting me to keep her up until he got home but she just wouldn't have it she was sooo tired. I guess her little body just needs the rest right now.

Yesterday the three of us enjoyed our “last” summer day off. We stayed at home played inside and went swimming, our favorite things to do! Tinslea is so funny in the pool she likes to get in and out, in and out! And when I say in I mean jump in! She walks along the side of the deck then JUMPS! She laughs when she does it too, what a dare devil! Lastnight was Hunter and Jakes last game. We hadn’t been to see Hunter play all season so we went to the ball park to watch him at 7:00. I’ve never understood why they make those little ones play in July it’s just way too hot! Anyways, Hunter did good he hit the ball twice…GO HUNT! He told Grandma on the way to the game he felt a tingling in his hand so he thought he was going to hit one over the fence HAHA.
Tinslea went back to School today. I dropped her off at Jodi’s this morning at 5:50am. Jodi kept her for a while so Tinslea didn’t have to go to work with me, then she took her to daycare. This afternoon I had a hair appointment with Kelly, so Mom kept Tinslea in town for a while then took her home to Josh (he had to work today too). By the time I got in Josh and Tinslea were already in the pool…without me!!
Jodi’s working a few hours at the hospital this afternoon…hope she likes it!! It’s just hard for me to picture her doing that kind of thing. She doesn’t even really like to change Tinslea’s poopy diaper HAHA.

It has defiantly been way too long since I’ve written. There’s no way I can possible tell you everything that’s happened over the last week. So, I’ll just hit the high points! Tuesday our floors were completed and I couldn’t be happier with them. At first I was a little unsure but once Josh got home on Wednesday and put all the furniture back in place and put the trim back up I felt at home. We still have to repaint the trim but other than that we have completed this task.
Friday night we went to Grayson County to Walmart to pick-up the food for the cook-out. While we were there we ate at BB’s, an Italian Resturant. Then we went by Mark and Missy Gary’s house to visit but, Missy and Hunter were in Bowling Green doing some school shopping and Mark and Talon were at football practice. So, we decided just to take Tinslea to the park. She had a BLAST, she swung for a while and played on the slides. Their parks are so much nicer than the one in Morgantown. It’s a shame the one here isn’t taken care of.
Yesterday we spent the day getting ready for DD and Jeremy’s cook-out. Mom came over and helped me clean – Let me restate that, she cleaned…that’s what Mom’s are for. I tell her and Grandma it’s their fault…they never showed me how HAHA. At about 5:00 pm everyone began getting here. Josh grilled the hamburgers and hotdogs while the rest of us enjoyed ourselves  Once we ate the guys played cornhole until it was dark while us girls spent our time talking – what we do best! About 9:30 DD, Rachael, and Heather we to Bowling Green and Jeremy, Josh (Bridgette’s husband) and Keith went to a cabin in Logansport. The rest of us, Josh, myself, Deana, Brandon, Blake, Alicia and Eric stayed here at the house and “hung-out”. It was about 10:00pm I went to Tinslea’s room (she was asleep) to check on her because she had been running a fever all day. I ended up waking her up because she was burning up!! I took her into the kitchen where everyone was and she was RED and shaking! Josh put her on the changing table to change her diaper and take her temp. WELL…her temp was 104.5 WOW!! I was about to FREAK OUT!! If there is anything that scares me it’s her running a temp. and she has NEVER had one that high. I called Jessi to soothe my mind to make sure I was doing the right thing. We gave her more Tylenol, took all her clothes off and put a “be cool” patch on her back. We let her stay up and play until about 12:00 am. Everyone ended up leaving the house at I think 10:30 pm. Josh and I were up all night checking on her.
This morning she still didn’t feel good. We stayed home from church b/c we were exhausted. We went down to Mom’s so she could watch her while we rested a bit. At lunch we ate at Grandma’s then Tinslea and the boys played in the pool. After they got out of the pool they RAN around the house screaming and singing, what the 3 of them do best. You know, if there’s one things I’m thankful for it’s family. I’m so glad Tinslea has cousins she will grow up around and be close to.
Tinslea is doing a little better, but still has a fever. I really want to think it’s her teeth. I can tell both her “I” teeth on the bottom are about to come in. On the other hand, she does have a slight croopy cough and Deana said that a lady Jill works with, her son had been sick with a fever and the Dr. said that he had a virus(which only causes a fever for a few days) . Who know, hopefully we’ll have a better night tonight.

Please tell me where the weekend went? The closer it gets to the end of summer the faster time flies. Friday Tinslea spent the day with everyone. She went to Grandma Linda’s for breakfast, then back to Mom and Dad’s. Jodi then had to go to Bowling Green and Dad had some mowing to do, so Tinslea spent the rest of the day with Mamaw Jane and Papaw Andy. She had an appointment to get her hair cut at 2:00 so Josh and I left the house about 12:30 to go and get her. As we were going through M-Town Talon Gary was outside the funeral home riding a scooter so we stopped and picked him up to ride with us. Talon has to be one of the sweetest kids ever. He’s so well mannered and Tinslea loves him!! When we got to Mamaw and Papaw’s, Tinslea was still asleep so we went to Chad and Amber’s to deliver a chair they bought from us along with a glider of Tinsleas' they are borrowing. Once we got back to Mamaw and Papaw’s, Tinslea was awake and eating a banana. When we left Josh and Talon were hungry so we stopped at Uncle Allen’s store for lunch. We all ended up getting a fish plate….and it was DELICIOUS!! We couldn’t get over how good it was. I think we’ll go back this Friday for lunch. Tinslea did pretty good getting her hair cut. This was her second trim – She had a mullet, so we just had Kelly trim the back, we’re going to let her bangs grow out. Friday night we went to Austan’s house for his “Welcome Home” party. During the party Austan proposed to Hillery!! Congrats Guys!!

Saturday we didn’t do much. Josh and Dad pulled up the carpet, getting ready for the hardwood tomorrow, while Mom and I went to Toys-R-Us. I bought Tinslea a kitchen set. Once Josh had the carpet complete and Tinslea went down for a nap Josh put together her kitchen. When she woke up she was surprised, she didn’t know what to think! I love seeing her get excited about things – So Sweet! Matthew and Aunt Jana came over just before Josh left for the races to get our entertainment center. Matthew is going to use it when he gets his own place. I think Josh just wanted to get rid of it so he will have room for his future BIG SCREEN. He’s hoping the “future” is sooner than later. Saturday night Josh raced while Tinslea and I went to Rochester to visit everyone.
Today has been pretty relaxing  we went to church, then to Mom and Dads!! And that’s ALL . I love days like these when you don’t do anything. Mom and Dad worked in corn again, while Josh and I played outside with Tinslea. We filled her pool up and she played in that for a while, but she had the most fun playing in the corn.
Josh leaves tomorrow morning for ballcamp and won’t be back until Wednesday night. He’s going to ReAlLy MiSs uS! OHHH and our hardwood is being put down tomorrow, I’m really nervous. Right now our house is a complete mess, and it’s stressing me out!! I’ll be so happy when things are put back together!

Guess What?!?!? We’re getting hardwood floors! Tuesday while I was at work, Josh took Tinslea to school then went on a “price check” mission. Lowes ended up having the best deal on the hardwood we wanted, so me being the way I am, made Josh come get me from work so I could go look at it. I APPROVED, so I gave Josh the debit card and he took me back to work. When we got back to Lowes he had all the wood ready to buy it and…our debit card has a $500 limit…and he didn’t have any checks. SOOO he drove back across town so I could give him a check. He wasn’t very happy he had to do all that driving, mainly because of all the gas he used. I told him that’s what he gets for driving a Tahoe HAHA. As for now the wood is piled up in the dining room waiting to be installed on Monday. I’m excited but a little nervous, I hope it looks okay…I just can’t picture what it will look like.
Tuesday afternoon Tinslea and I stopped by Aunt Chelle and Uncle Joe’s house to visit a while. Tinslea just loves to play with Zac, they go in his bedroom and just PLAY!! Chelsea was going to BG with a friend so we got to visit her for a while before she left. She looked so pretty…she always does! Before we left Zac had gone through more of his movies and gave Tinslea like 4 more of them. I don’t think we’ve ever left their house empty handed LOL. Zac is always giving her his things he’s out-grown.
Yesterday we had Dewayne move the building from Lloyds house to ours. We’ve somehow accumulated so much stuff over the past few years we’ve ran out of room. Josh spent most of the day getting the building set up. It looks nice, all we have to do now is paint/stain it. After Tinslea bath lastnight Josh and her gave Griffey a bath. Tinslea got soo mad at her Daddy, she just didn’t understand why she couldn’t get in the tub with Griff.



Tinslea is with her MeMe and Pa John tonight. I felt bad that we had to miss Lola’s Birthday Party. We sent her a gift with Fammie, hopefully she’ll like it!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOLA!

I feel like we've got a lot of catching up to do, we had a pretty busy weekend! Saturday we sat around the house until about 4:00pm then Tinslea and myself went to Rochester to see Ma Ag (she's with Grandma again), while Josh got ready for the races. He was Super Excited about racing this weeked because Austan came in from Cali! He's been there for a few months at Boot Camp for the Marines. Welcome Back Austan, We're Proud of You! While at Grandma's Pa John came to visit his Baby Girl. Tinslea, Grandma, Jake and I were in the bedroom playing and Tinslea heard the four-wheeler and she started stomping her feet laughing. She knew it was her Pa. When he walked through the door she RAN straight to him!! After we left Grandma's we went to Moms to see if she was ready to go to Laurie and Scotts for the cook-out and fireworks. Scott did a Wonderful job cooking :) Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves; it's always nice to visit with people you don't see very often. The night was cut short due to the STORM!! Hopefully Laurie and Scott will do it again next year...without the rain!!
Sunday we didn't do much, just went to Rochester for the day!! We ate lunch, then went to Mom's to work in corn. Mom, Jodi, Aunt Jana, Mamaw Jane, and I all worked about 200 ears of corn. Jodi and I didn't do as many we stopped about 1/2 way through and took the ears that had already been cut of off to Uncle Allen's cows. Josh, Tinslea, Jodi and I rode the four-wheeler over to Uncle Allen and Kathy's house. Tinslea didn't really care as much about the cows as she did Kathy's water hose. She doesn't really know her Aunt Kathy that well because she doesn't get to see her that much, so yesterday was good bonding time for them. Kathy and Tinslea playing the in water for I know at least 30 minutes. IT WAS SOOO FUNNY!! Tinslea had a BLAST!!
Today...we decided we want hardwood floor in the living room and hallway. Mom had hardwood put down in her livingroom a couple weeks ago and it looks really good, that's where we got this spur of the moment idea. So, our mission has now began! For anyone who knows us, when we decided we want something there's no waiting... We went to Beaver Dam to do some price checking today and tomorrow Josh is taking Tinslea to school and going to a few places in BG. Hopefully we'll have some hardwood in a couple of weeks!
Today is Scott and Laurie's 1 Year Anniversary...Happy Anniversary!!

Thanks everyone for the calls, texts, emails and Birthday Gifts! This year's Birthday (Tuesday) was just like any other day, I had to work :( After work I picked Tinslea up from DayCare and we headed to Morgantown. I got to the courthouse at about 3:00pm. She was staying with Mom and Dad so we had some time to kill. We visited everyone in Mom's office for a while, then Josh came to meet us and we went and played outside on the courthouse lawn. When Mom got off we loaded Tinslea up and she went to Rochester for the night. No, our night didn't end as you may imagine. It was MY night!! Sooo we picked up Garcias to GO, ate it at home and watched Tori and Dean ALL NIGHT!! That was it, SOOOO relaxing! It wasn't Josh's idea of a Birthday, but is sure was mine.
Wednesday, Tinslea stayed with Mamaw Jane and Papaw Andy. They seemed to enjoy her company. I think Papaw was having some withdraw, he hadn't kept her since before we went to Florida. That afternoon Dad met me in town with her. She LOVES her Pa John! We came home to our same routine, we played outside ate supper and played some more. She was so exhausted she went to bed about 6:45pm. That was fine with me, I wasn't far behind her I went to bed at 8:45!
After work today Tinsela and I went shopping since Josh and Dad were having their "bonding time" (the Cubs and Reds were playing). Shopping with Tinslea by myself is always a challenge. She loves pulling things off the shelf and NeVeR lets me try anything on. I ended up just getting a pair of shoes and her a shirt. When we got back to Morgantown we stopped by Candi's. Lola had some shoes she had out-grown for Tinslea. We are very thankful for Candi, WE LoVe Lola's hand-me-downs! Lola was with her Mamaw so she and Tinslea didn't get to play...that didn't stop Tinslea from playing with Lola's toys though:)

I almost forgot to mention, Please Keep Grandma Linda in your Prayers. She went back to the Dr. on Tuesday for more tests. She has an appointment with the Dr. July 25th, hopefully she will be given some answers as to what the problem is at this visit.

4th of July Weekend

I hope everyone had a wonderful 3 Day Weekend!! Saturday Josh raced while Tinslea and I went to the festival. We met Mom there to watch the Star Search then we met up with Aunt Michelle, Chelsea and Zac. We watched the tractor pull for a while then we went to the pageants. While at the pageants we watched the fireworks. I was really surprised Tinslea liked the fireworks as well as she did. She was trying to "catch" them!! Dad had to work Saturday night at Aleris, but as soon as he heard them going off he called Mom to see EXACTLY what Tinslea was doing and how she was reacting - So Sweet:)
Sunday afternoon/night we had a cook-out for the WHOLE family at Grandma Linda's. When I say WHOLE I mean...Grandma Linda, Poppie, Ma Ag, Uncle Allen, Kathy, Markus, Jessi, Charlie, Hunter, Jake, Chad, Amber, Ryan, Mom, Dad, Jodi, Mamaw Jane, Papaw Andy, Aunt Jana, Mark, Ann, Uncle Joe, Aunt Michelle, Chelsea, Zac, Jim, Fammie, Juleah, Jordan, Josh, Tinslea and myself!! We have SOOO much fun when we're all together...we may not be that interesting to most but just being with one another is such a joy. As always we HAD to play corn hole and guess what....Josh and Uncle Joe have still not been beaten. I couldn't tell you how many games they played but NO ONE could BEAT them. At about 9:00 pm Charlie and Uncle Allen set the firework off...They Were Beautiful!!

I don't know about you but this week has flown by for me!! Here's a quick glance at our week...
Tuesday - Tinslea was in the Catfish Festival "4th of July Parade" for winning the beauty pageant last year. She did pretty good until we got about half way through then she was tired and ready to get out of the car.
Wednesday - Josh and Uncle Joey were in the corn hole tment. They were hoping to get to be partners but they did a blind draw :( Sooo Uncle Joey didn't make it past the first round and Josh was knocked out in the second round. After that we went to the dog show and stayed there for a while then came home. Rylee had her dog Roxy in the show and for anyone who doesn't know Rylee she is a trip. Well Roxy didn't win anything so after the show was over Rylee went to the judges to ask why Roxy lost. She said "Was it because you didn't see her face very well"? FUNNY HUH! Gotta love that Rylee.
Thursday - Well, today was the big day for Morgantown...The Catfish Festival Pageants!! Tinslea didn't win this year..but she got 2nd runner up. Her cousin Maeleigh won and Annabelle Childres (Hope McKinney Childres'daughter) was 1st runner up. Poor Tinslea she wouldn't smile for anything...until the pageant was over then she was happy. Babies are so interesting you never know what they are going to do. Ms. Lola, She is such a little doll, she didn't win but she was sure cute. Little thing just wanted her Mamaw and Aunt Rhonda LOL. Also, our cousin Cayden Southerland was 1st runner up in his age group...Congrats!!
Before I end I want to thank everyone for coming out to watch and support Tinslea...We Love You and Greatly Appreciate EVERYTHING...
