He Doesn't Get Out Much....

We spent today in Rochester. We pretty much ate ALL day and sat around and talked while the kids ran wild. The reoccurring conversation of the day was Chad and Amber’s trip to Bowling Green. We continued laughing and making fun of Chad all day… I mean seriously we would just be sitting talking and someone would bust out laughing…and we knew they were thinking about Chad.
Please be prepared to laugh very hysterically at the story I’m about to tell!!
OK SO….
Amber was upstairs in Macy’s buying Tay an Easter outfit. Chad was in the mall also at the tux store getting fit for his tux. He was to meet Amber at the top of the escalator.
Amber received a call from Chad as he was panting “Where are you”?
Amber “At the top of the escalator”.
Chad “NO your not, that’s where I’m at”.
At this point Amber KNEW what had happened!
Chad had gone up the escalator the WRONG way!!! Amber said he was rolling with sweat.
Just imagine – Chad (he had his cowboy boots on) trying to run UP the DOWN escalator!!!
Chad said he honestly didn’t know there was another escalator and he didn’t see another way to get to the top.
Grandma ask “Chad what were the people doing that were coming down”.
Chad said “Well, no one was coming down, but there were about 5 people at the top of the stairs watching me. I was having to jump like 2 stairs at a time, and I was tripping and about fell a couple times. By the time I almost got to the top I was so tired I thought I was about to go back down. When I did get to the top I looked at the people watching and said WEEEEEW that was a workout!”
I mean really can you imagine seeing a GROWN man doing this… and honestly not knowing there was an UP escalator!!! I told Chad about the 3rd time the story was told today that this was blog worthy!!!!

Who needs a BabySitter?

Tinslea loves to play in Griffey's cage, why I don't know...but she love to play with her babies in there. This morning she decided to play with Griffey in the cage.
You may be thinking...Why is there red sheet metal all over the cage? Well...the first pic explains it all...We keep Griff in the cage while we're gone and he kept getting out. I mean seriously, a little toy poodle and look at the way the has bent the bars!!! There were days when we would come home and he had even flipped the cage over. If we had videoed him we could have probably made some money.

~Laurie - I'm sure your probably laughing so hard your about to pee on yourself -and yelling for Scott to come and look too!!~

We never waste food...

During supper Tinslea spilled her soup, then began licking it up off the table.

Sweet Sixteen to Elite Eight

On Wednesday the Grayson County Boys Basketball team headed to Lexington for the State Tournament. They won on Wed. advancing to the Elite Eight on Firday. Although the boys lost on Friday, we are very proud of them! I had to work so I didn't get to go to the games, but Josh and Dad were able to make it. And...Dad wore his orange and blue!!
Below are a few pics of Hunter...Congrats Hunter!!!

Saturday Already

What a week…
The “Spring Like” weather turned Josh, Tinslea and I into social butterflies.
Monday – We went to the Regional Championship game – GC Won!! Mom and Dad met us there, and believe it or not Dad was even cheering for GC (guess he decided he better get used to it).
Tuesday – The three of us visited Mark, Missy, Hunter and Talon then walked to Cathy and Larry’s to visit with them. Once we walked back to Mark and Missy’s Talon wanted to show Tinslea his birds.
Wednesday – Taylor had her 6 month birthday party!! She was so cute – she didn’t really know what to think about the cake. Sorry, no pictures, I forgot my camera.
Thursday – WE went straight home!!!
Friday (lastnight) – After work we went to E-Town and ate at the Green Bamboo, took Tinslea to the mall to play in their little play area, stopped at Baskin Robbins and ate some ice cream, went to walmart in GC, visited with Jodi, Jared, Rick and Jill and lastly stopped at Wes and Angie Shulls. By 11:00 pm we were on our way HOME. Tinslea was a trooper – She didn’t fuss or cry and didn’t even go to sleep in the car – we couldn’t have asked for a better child.
Today – well we got up and went to Hunter’s game at 9:00 and after the game Tinslea refused to come home. She wanted to go with her MeMe and Pa. Since Josh had some homework and I have laundry we decided to go ahead and let her go. I can tell I’m not going to like her making her own decisions about wanting to go home with people. This may cause fights because I’m stingy with my time!! What can I say I can’t get enough of my BABY!

What Shall We Do Today?

I don’t know about you, but I’m loving the weather!! I can’t wait to see what the day holds..I’m sure we will be outside ALL day! We are going to Talon’s game and then have no Idea from there. Not havng things planned out kills Josh, But I’m so not a planner!
Thursday night we went to the regional t-ment game to watch GC (Hunter) play. They beat OC so we will be playing the Championship game on Monday night. OHh and Hunter did an amazing job!!!!! While at the game we saw Chels, Aunt Chelle and Aunt Jana. Tinslea went and sat with Chles for a while then decided she wanted Momma back. It was funny seeing Chels carry her across the gym floor, Tinslea is bigger than she is.
Lastnight we went to BG to get Tinslea some new shoes. I think her feet grew overnight. I knew it was coming though. She had been in the same size since fall - so we have been pretty lucky to not have to buy any new shoes in a while. Josh about died we paid $55 at Shoe Carnival for her 2 pairs of shoes lastnight – and that was buy one get 1 half off. Oh well, what girl can go without Keds and Nike’s ? After her throwing a fit not wanting to leave the shoe store we went to Toys-R-Us and she threw a fit not to leave there…then it was all better when we went to Logan’s to meet Chad, Amber and Tay! When she noticed Amber’s Jeep and started running toward it saying “Tay”!!!! We had a nice supper with great food and plenty of laughs. We can’t wait until the girls get a little bigger and get to play with one another. I think Tinslea is going to treat her like she is HER BaBy!.

Cloud 9

As I write this, I’m completely on Cloud 9!! I just received a call from my supervisor saying they had a briefing and the lady (Linda) who reviewed our HomeBased Program – said we are one of the TOP HomeBased Programs in the Nation and that she couldn’t find Anything wrong with the program. I mean really, how much better does it get!!!! WOOO HOOOO!!
So, with getting all the good news before supper, I had to pray about it. In the middle of my prayer before supper Tinslea blurted out “AMEN” – I think she’s tired of hearing all my conversations regarding work. When she did this I immediately began to think about Ma Ag. In know with all my heart she would be so proud of me (she always told me she was). She used to brag about the way Josh and I were raising Tinslea and she would say that she NEVER worried about Tinslea because she knew she was being taken care of and not mistreated. I’m sure Ma’s up in heaven watching with a smile every night when we say our prayers – and tonight I’m sure she even let out a giggle with Tinslea said “AMEN”. Once my prayer was over I began to talk to Tinslea about Ma Ag and told her how good of a Lady she was and we talked about her being in heaven – Now when you ask Tinslea where Ma Ag is – she points up to Heaven.

A little more about Linda - she is the like Queen of Home Based programs - If you interested in that line of work her website it http://www.babiescantwait.com/ . Check her out! - I'm hoping to be able to attend one of her trainings :)

I'm Still Employeed

I made it through the day - I'm alive and still have a job HAHA! A staff member overheard the lady that was with me today saying "Those were the best homevists I've ever seen". YAY!! She went with my coworker for 25 minutes then I picked her up, drove her to my HV (25 minutes away) and she stayed with me on my visit for 90 minutes. Honestly believe it or not I wasn't really nervous. I was calm and just did my thing. This afternoon myself and the other EHS FA's had a 90 minute interview. That too went suprisingly well..and still I was calm!!! I think I have jsut gotten to a point that I knew I could only do so much and I just needed to by myself.

Thank you all for your calls, texts, and messages - Love You All :)

Calling "Andy"

One day down!! Today I met a few members of the review team, they seemed pretty nice, but I didn’t get to met the lady who will be with me tomorrow. I’m feeling better about it and am to the point that I’m ready to get it over with.
Josh went to the basketball game tonight and left Tinslea and I here alone. As she and I were playing in the floor with her school bus, she started having a fit to call “Andy”! SOOO once I saw she was NOT going to give up I dialed the number. She and Papaw Andy talked for quite a while, and when I say "talk" they really did, she would listen then chime in a few words and listen again. It got to a point I was sure Papaw was having a hard time coming up with thing to say( I mean really how do you carry on a full 5 minute conversation over the phone with a 1 yr old) I made her get off the phone. WRONG thing to do, she got mad again! Then she wanted to call Pa and MeMe. So once again I dialed the number. She talked to Dad while pacing up and down the hall – this went on for about 5 minutes – then I made her get off the phone. Same thing – She threw a fit. I thought we hade at least another 12ish years before we had to deal with the phone issue!! Beware if you receive a phone call from a little girl – it's a good possibilty it's TINSLEA : )

Preparing for a Federal Review

Work, Work, Work…when does it end? Each Head Start has a Federal Review every 3 years …and guess what it’s time for ours, and the “new girl” excuse doesn’t cut it! I worked over some this week then went into work yesterday and worked from home today . Our review starts tomorrow and lasts until Wednesday or Thursday. They will be going with me on a homevisit Tuesday, I think I’m almost prepared – or as prepared as I’m going to get.
Tinslea stayed with MeMe and Pa John and Jo Jo lastnight. Jodi took her to see Grandma Poppie and Tay. From what I hear she tried to share her cracker with Tay!! Then she visited Mamaw and Papaw – Papaw is no longer Papaw though, she has started calling him Andy!! Mom has had her today so I could wrap things up and go over some procedures and protocols.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week – Keep me in mind Tuesday at 10:15!!!
